## Pre Med Bootcamp Program Outline

[Week 1: Why Medicine?\

- Interviews with physicians and medical professionals about why they chose medicine
- Overview of different careers in medicine
- Overview of training required to become a doctor vs. other professions
- Defining your why
- Meet your mentor

[Week 2: Specialties\
\

- Learn about different specialties (ex: surgical vs. non-surgical)
- Complete case studies on various specialties
- Discuss shadowing with mentor and pick 3 specialities you’re interested in shadowing
- Introduction to final project and finalizing topic with mentor

[Week 3: Admissions & Shadowing\
\

- Overview of pre-med college admissions and requirements for applying to med school
- Research undergrad programs to understand med school acceptance rates, costs, and more
- How to be a well-rounded med school applicant - hint: you don't have to study science!
- Shadow 3 specialties
- Work on final project

[**Week 4: Final project + Presentation**\

- Start and finish project
- Shadow at least 1 more time
- Present project to class
- Final wrap up
